"Snaplock" Technical Information

Specification

Snaplock, cam and groove couplings are capable of carrying gases, liquids, powders and granules. The applications for this ‘straight through’ coupling are limited only by the chemical compatibility of the material, the seal with the media being handled, and the working pressure requirement. Probably the simplest and most versatile quick coupling available. Interchangeable with other cam and groove products, originally made to MIL-C-27487.

Working Pressures Max psi (bar)

These working pressures are given for ambient temperatures of 70°F, using Elastomeric seals. Higher temperatures and/or PTFE seals will reduce the pressure rating of the coupling. In the case of polypropylene, the maximum working temperature is 158°F(70°C) and at this temperature the working pressures below must be reduced by 40%.

Aluminum Couplings are permanent mold cast which is a process that yields castings with a finer grain structure and better strength properties than those produced in sand casting and die casting.

Brass Couplings are forged for ½” to 3” and sand cast for all other sizes.

316 Stainless Steel Couplings are investment cast, also known as precision casting or lost wax process. SS316 is equivalent to DIN1.4404

Polypropylene Couplings are manufactured from acid resistant 20% glass reinforced Polypropylene. Max temperature for Polypropylene is 160 degrees farenheit.
